What exactly is Questionable Medicine?

We are a veterinary consultancy service that provides pet owners the opportunity to delve deeper into their pet's health concerns than is normally permitted in the reality of today's veterinary world . We help bridge the knowledge gap by reviewing medical records, answering questions, and explaining common veterinary procedures and practices. We can also help by providing an expert second opinion based on years of experience in referral practices.

How does the consultation process work?

Once you've booked an appointment, you'll be prompted to share your pet's medical records with us and instructions on how to have them sent by your veterinarian to us for review. While we would love to do this for you, the privacy policies of most practices prevent us from doing this directly. Prior to the consultation, one of our experienced veterinarians will review these records and provide you a Zoom link for the booked time and date. During the consultation by Zoom or Phone (your choice), we will discuss your concerns and provide clarity on next steps and options for care that best fit your goals. A written summary will be emailed to you about the consultation.

Can I consider this as a replacement for a visit to a veterinary clinic?

No, our consultancy is meant to complement, not replace, visits to your veterinarian. We aim to provide additional clarity and understanding about your pet's health, but always recommend seeing a professional for physical examinations and specific medical advice. Unfortunately, because of the current laws concerning the Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (VCPR), we can't diagnose, treat, or prescribe for your pet without first performing a physical examination.
